圣诞节活动
蒙特勒圣诞节市场
蒙特勒，距离格里昂10分钟路程
11月20日—12月24日
这向来是我们最喜爱的冬季活动，一起与家人、朋友和同事享受欢聚时光。从11月的最后一周到12月的24日，蒙特勒湖边变成了“圣诞节进行曲”，或叫圣诞节市场，这里创造了节日里迷人的氛围，引人注目。市场中以迷你小木屋为特色，屋里出售当地手艺人的节日礼品和手工艺品，与此同时，美食广场和餐厅都提供瑞士美食和异域美食，这些美食分量适当，适合边玩边吃并且价格合理。游客坐上摩天轮（ferris wheel）会看到缀满灯光的城市和周边的夜景，还有欢迎“贵宾”活动，主人用礼物欢迎特定的主宾国；今年，主宾国是匈牙利（Hungry）。
夏兰古堡

12月5日—20日
夏兰古堡是全年都可以去游玩的有趣景点，颇有影响力的蒙特勒（Montreux）爵士音乐节（Montreux’s Jazz Festival）和圣诞节市场（Christmas Market）12月份也将在古堡举办活动。在12月4日，将会有新奥尔良风格爵士乐晚宴。从12月5日到20日，中世纪风格装饰将会萦绕古堡，会有中世纪时期的集市、音乐、手工制品以及食物等，让人们分享中世纪的乐趣。

你不一定非要像个孩子一样爱童话中的圣诞节魔法仙境，因为这个仙境真是的存在于积雪的科城（Caux）圣诞村（Christmas Village），这也是蒙特勒圣诞节活动的另一个活动项目。在圣诞村，你可以看到精灵和驯鹿、游览魔法森林、向圣诞老人许愿还有享受圣诞节美食和手工艺品。

Switzerland offers an amazing array of winter activities for people of all ages. Take advantage of the lull between the end of exams, the graduation, and the year-end holidays to visit Switzerland’s many seasonal events and enjoy the snow before the high-season starts. We’ve put together this little guide of the things that you can do in Switzerland this winter, with many activities that are nearby the Glion or Bulle campus.
Christmas Activities
The Montreux Christmas Market
Montreux, 10 minutes from Glion
November 20 – December 24
This is one of our all-time favorite winter events to enjoy with friends, colleagues and family. From the last week of November to the 24th of December, the lakeside of Montreux is transformed into the “Marche de Noel”, or Christmas Market, which creates an enchanting atmosphere of holiday cheer and offers many attractions. The market features mini-chalets where regional artisans sell festive arts and crafts, while the food courts and temporary restaurants offer typical Swiss food and some more exotic fare, in easy-to-handle portions and at reasonable prices. The ferris wheel give visitors a charming view over the light-strewn city and surrounding region, and the “guest of honor” section hosts the goods and services of one featured guest country; this year, it’s Hungary.

You don’t have to be a child to love the magic and wonder of Christmas as it comes alive in the snow packed village of Caux in the Christmas Village, another extension of Montreux’s Christmas activities. In the village, you can see elves and reindeer, visit the magic forest, send your wish list to Santa, and enjoy Christmas treats and crafts.

A Gourmet Winter Walking Tour

“Les Paccots is a small holiday village in the Alpine foothills of Fribourg, it is an ideal place for snowshoeing enthusiasts. Two signposted circuits of 3 and 4 km are a great way to discover the snow-covered forests and meadows. Various gourmet paths lead from one alpine hut to the next and to mountain inns, where local delicacies are served in taster portions. Depending on your appetite and mood, you can choose between the Little Gourmet, Family and Panorama Paths: everyone is guaranteed to have their fill – not least of the fabulous views.

There are so many different winter sports and sports events in this region of Switzerland that it would take a whole website to show them all, wait…there is a whole website that lists them all! Rock the Pistes Festival
Portes du Soleil, 30 minutes from Glion
March 13-19
For the 6th edition of this music festival on the ski slopes, get your skis ready and head out to the Portes du Soleil for a unique experience in a stunning setting. The Portes du Soleils is one of the largest ski stations around with paths that go down both sides of the Alps into Switzerland or France. The Rock the Pistes Festival features more than 35 concerts on various stages in the area and after-ski parties, tickets can be purchased at any of the lifts in the station, or reserved on the website.
Carnival
The traditional celebrations of Carnival take place in the Catholic Cantons of Switzerland. These festivals precede the beginning of the Christian ritual of Lent, a 40-day period before Easter when Christians give up one or more luxuries such as alcohol, sugar or meat. Thermal Baths & Spas
Thermal baths abound in Switzerland where the warm thermal waters flow from mountain sources and are directed into various pools for a relaxing and therapeutic treatment. After ski, or just for fun, these addresses are great places to unwind and enjoy the winter weather. These two are easily accessible from our campuses:

Snowshoe & Fondue Nights: What could be more fun than a moonlit snowshoeing expedition through the wintery forest to have a nice warm fondue in a traditional Swiss chalet? These special evenings are organized in various locations throughout the winter. Here are a few good addresses:
